Josh Rowe raced the TBF HIT IV Half Iron distance triathlon on Saturday, winning his age group and finishing 9th overall.  Josh also had the 3rd fastest bike split in the field, averaging over 21 mph for 56 miles.  You can read his race report on the Results page of the website.

This Sunday September 4th is the Mount Shasta Tinman, our next club race for the year.  We expect a large contingent from CTC again this year.  This is a low key race on a beautiful course that is ideal for first timers.  Many racers will camp the night before while others will drive up Sunday morning.  We're planning a post race bash similar to last year.  We'll have our new red pop-up with CTC banners right adjacent to the transition area.  So bring something to eat, drink, and share,  and maybe something to sit on, and enjoy the post race festivities with your CTC friends.  Look for a "roll call" email later this week.

The HITS Triathlon Series will debut in 2012 with 12 events, including a stop in Napa.  Each event will have Open, Sprint, Olympic, Half, and Full distance races.  Dave Scott has signed on to help with promotion.   Here's the website:
