CTC President’s Report November 2019
CTC-A place to have fun, learn and explore your talents.
We had a great year end and volunteer appreciation party. I am amazed at how generous and dedicated our community is in supporting local running events by volunteering and also for all the sponsors and volunteers who made the Black Butte triathlon/duathlon such a success this year. Thanks again to everyone.
CTC members had a very successful 2019 season. We had many firsts, personal bests, podium finishes, and both national and world qualifying times. Over the past 10 years of the club we have had over 1,200 multisport race starts. However, one of the biggest attributes of CTC is the number of new friendships formed and new training partners gained. Our club consists of so many encouraging and inspiring athletes.
Registration for the 2020 Black Butte triathlon/duathlon is opening on Black Friday November 29th . The race will be held on September 12, 2020. Be sure to register as soon as you can, to get the best deal on registration: http://blackbuttetriathlon.org/

Athlete of the month
The athlete of the month for October 2019 is Darlene Henderson. Darlene has been competing in the sport of triathlon for many years and embodies the multisport lifestyle. Darlene had a tremendous season and demonstrates that dedicated training leads to amazing results.
We will also be recognizing a Volunteer of the month. This month Karen English is the deserving recipient. Karen was on the Black Butte Triathlon race committee for 2019 and also was CTC’s volunteer coordinator for all our volunteer events throughout the year. Her effort and enthusiasm is much appreciated.
For 2019, the Athlete of the Month will consist of recognition of a club member who has contributed to the club in a positive way. This can be from volunteering, participating in club workouts, encouraging others or by competing in a multisport event. The Athlete of the Month will be invited by a CTC Board Member to answer some interview questions if interested, so we can share some information about them with our club.
Please take the time to help us pick the next Athlete of the month. Just send an email to president@chicotriathlonclub.com listing your nomination.
