Please join us February 13th at 6:30 PM at Fleet Feet in Downtown Chico for our annual kick-off event generously hosted by Fleet Feet. There will be complimentary pizza and drinks, a raffle, speakers, and shopping opportunities. This is also a recruitment event so please bring any tri-curious friends.
New Board Member:
We are excited for Tyler Spangler to join the board this year. Tyler brings experience in triathlon racing and coaching. He completed his first Ironman last year at Lake Placed and is the coach of the Chico State Triathlon team. As we welcome Tyler we thank Jason Berry for his many years of service on the CTC board and his continuing work to support the Black Butte Triathlon. Officer positions for this year’s board are:

This month’s AOM is Jenni Merrell who recently got her season started at the TBF New Year's Duathlon. Congratulations Jenni!

The Friday Morning One Mile open water swims will resume after Memorial Day
Rides:
River Road Time Trials: The Thursday River Road Time Trials are done for the season and will resume in April. A HUGE THANK YOU to Eric Ayars for running the events the past several years.
Cal Park Hills: The Wednesday night hill repeats have resumed in California Park. Bikes roll from North Rim at 6:00PM and the group rides to Cal Park together for a prescribed workout each week. Helmets and lights are required and all abilities are welcome. Check the Chico Area Group Rides Facebook group and our CTC Facebook page for updates.
Jenni’s Sunday Ride: Jenni Merrell often leads a no-drop Sunday Ride. Check the CTC Facebook page for updates.
Runs:
Saturday Morning Runs: The Saturday morning runs meet at Five Mile Recreation Area near the bathrooms. There’s an 8:00 AM “dog” run and a slower paced run that leaves at 9:00 AM. Check the CTC Facebook page for updates and starting times.
Tuesday Night Run: The Tuesday night run meets at Wildwood Park at 5:30 PM in the parking lot near the bathrooms. Headlamps are required. Check the CTC Facebook page for updates and starting times.
Uniforms
The uniform store is closed but a new ordering window will open soon. Members will be able to purchase triathlon and cycling kits that will arrive in time for the Black Butte Triathlon in June. Look for an update in the next President’s Report and also on the CTC Facebook page. CTC branded shirts and branded apparel can be ordered anytime through Squadlocker.
