Happy Summer CTCers!
We have a lot of information to share this month. Please read below for some important updates and upcoming events...
*Save the Date!* - Our Summer Party is tentatively scheduled for July 26th. Please keep an eye out for an Evite that will include more details!
Our Athlete of the Month is Tammie Watkins! She recently finished 3rd in her age group at the Tri for Real and the Folsom Lake International Triathlon, and is currently training hard for the Salem 70.3 coming up next month. Please join me in congratulating Tammie for her accomplishments and send her good vibes for July 19th!
Join the Shasta Wheelmen this Saturday (June 20th) on the bike route of the Redding 70.3! They will meet in the Sundial Bridge parking lot and start the ride at 7am.
We still have two club races coming up! We encourage everyone to sign up for the Ironman 70.3 Northern California and the Mt. Shasta Tinman.
We are planning a Tinman Takeover at the Mt. Shasta Tinman! CTC members who sign up are eligible for a reimbursement of up to $155 per member. You must start the race to be eligible. If you have registered, please send a confirmation of your registration to treasurer@chicotriathlonclub.
There will be a spaghetti feed on September 5th for CTC members who are participating in the Mt. Shasta Tinman, hosted by a few of the CTC Board Members. If you are interested in attending, please let me know so we can get an idea of how much spaghetti to make!
This month's sponsor is Chico Dental Arts. We thank them for their continued sponsorship of CTC!
We have a couple updates on training:
- Track workouts will be the first and third Thursdays beginning at 5:30pm during July and August.
- Friday morning swims have started! Please keep an eye on the Facebook page for updates. The pool is being cleaned, so there may not be a swim this Friday. Typical start times are between 6:15-6:30am.
Make sure you check out all the other training opportunities with the club!
The uniform store for 2026 is still open! Check the CTC website or the CTC Facebook page for more information.
May the waters be clear, the wind be at your back, and keep the rubber side down.
