Transition Clinic on Sunday June 2nd
Are you preparing for your first Triathlon at Black Butte Lake on June 15th? Are you unsure of what to bring? Would you like to learn from veteran triathletes the best way to set up your gear and transition between the three sports? And have an opportunity to practice them? If you answered yes, the club has an event for you. We’re putting on putting on a Transition Clinic Sunday June 2nd, 10:00 AM at 1267 Orchard Way in Chico. Bring your wetsuit, bike, running shoes, and anything else you think you’ll need to race a triathlon. Experienced triathletes will go over all the details of laying out your gear for quick transitions and will provide tips for newer athletes. Participants will practice with short swim, bike, and run activities to get you ready for race day.
Summer Party on Saturday June 22nd
The club will hold its annual Summer Party on Saturday June 22nd. More details to come but please save the date for an afternoon of fun with your CTC pals.

Since this report covers two months, we are glad to celebrate two Athletes of the Month who both completed their first ever triathlons: Hope Magana and Alyssa Caldwell. Congratulations to you both!
Volunteer Opportunity:
The club’s next Volunteer Opportunity is our own Black Butte Triathlon on June 15th. Use the Volunteer Link to sign up to help out with the race. Note that it’s possible to both race and volunteer for this event.
Training:
Swims:
The Friday Morning One Mile open water swims will be starting up soon. We typically wait until the pool is cleaned for the first time which is usually just before Memorial Day weekend.
Rides:
River Road Time Trials: The next River Road Time Trial is Thursday June 6th. Registration opens at 5:30 PM and the first rider goes off at 6:01. We’ll gather at Allies Pub after the event where the first round of drinks is on the club for all current members.
Wednesday 50s: The Wednesday 50s are community group rides that leave from Rosedale Elementary school every Wednesday during daylight savings time. The “Fit 50” and “Fun 50” depart at 5:32 PM and the “Fast 50” leaves at 5:30 PM (note the time change from 6:00 PM). Group rides are a great way to improve your fitness and bike handling skills and the Fun 50 is the one best suited to newer riders.
